Red Cedar honors clients and their family members that are active-duty military or veterans by gifting them a care package every November. We strongly believe in recognizing our freedoms and honoring those that have sacrificed on our behalf.
Every Wednesday at 12:05pm, the Downtowners Toastmasters Club #684 meets at Red Cedar to practice growing their speaking and leadership skills. The club focuses on coaching, learning, and personal development. Theresa Mickelson was The District 19 2019-2020 Director.

Audrey Mickelson, Red Cedar’s marketing assistant, is currently serving all Czech-Slovak Iowans on a state level as a cultural ambassador. As Queen, Miss Czech-Slovak Iowa 2022-2023, Audrey has represented Iowa in South Dakota, Missouri, and Nebraska encouraging the younger generations to remember their heritage.
Steve and Theresa Mickelson participate in the organizing committee for an annual Drum Corps International show held in the heart of Cedar Rapids. Tournament of Drums has been around since the 1950s. It was revitalized by the committee in 2015 and now draws thousands.

In conjunction with Sunrise Rotary, we have been active as a sponsor at the annual golf outing since 2013. The event is held to raise money for Make-A-Wish Iowa.
